Bjarne Svanøe was born in 1954 on the island Svanøy, in the Western part of Norway. He studied art at the Academy of Fine Art in Bergen and Oslo. He has exhibited in many galleries in Norway, and also in several galleries in London. He is represented in numerous private collections. Svanøe paints in a dynamic and figurative style. Themes for his work is ranging from breathtaking landscapes to scenes from city life.
